Getting a passport

Existing passports

  • Ensure your passport passes the requirements

  • Please Note: Just having a passport does not mean it is valid for travel, some countries have additional passport requirements such as that it be valid for at least six months after the end of your trip and that it have two or more blank pages

  • Check your destination’s passport requirements

□ Review Customs Restrictions of Foreign Destinations

  • Be aware that many countries have restrictions on what you can bring into that country, including medications (even some over-the-counter medications)

  • Check with the foreign embassies and consulates
